Kito has served as Head of Mission of the Office of the Quartet in Jerusalem since early 2015, leading efforts on Palestinian economic and institutional empowerment. He is a former Senior Partner at McKinsey, where he led the creation of the firm’s Middle East office in Dubai and lead McKinsey's Public and Social Sector Practice in the Middle East. Kito holds a BSc in Management Sciences from Loughborough University and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.

Formerly CEO of Palestine’s Wataniya Mobile and a Principal at the Dubai-based Abraaj Group, Fayez has held senior management positions at leading financial institutions and large corporations across the Middle East for the past 20 years. He holds a degree in finance from the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington, D.C.

A former McKinsey consultant and advisor with the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative, Cassandre has spent over 10 years advising ministries across Africa and the Middle East, most recently helping Ethiopia develop its first industrial park. A French national, she holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the ENPC in Paris and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University.

David has worked for leading international investment groups for over 10 years, including Lehman Brothers, Nomura International, and Ekistics Capital Advisors. He has worked on a broad range of projects, including PPP developments worth over $1.5 billion. He holds an MLitt in Management and Finance from the University of St Andrews, and a Masters of Finance from the University of Cambridge. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
David Khoury

Marie-Claire joined Shurook from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she served as the Middle East Regional Coordinator. She has spent most of her career implementing projects in politically complex spaces in the Middle East and Africa, including Western Sahara, Lebanon, and Gaza. Marie Claire holds master’s degrees in international law and human rights from the Institut d’Etudes des Relations Internationales and Oxford University.

A California native, Maya is passionate about the intersection of technology, design, and productivity and merges these passions as Head of the Shurook Lab. Previously a Management Consultant with global consulting firm Accenture, Maya holds a B.A. in International Trade & Business Strategy from the University of California, Berkeley.

An investment banker from Ramallah, Wisam joined Shurook after 3 years as a Senior Investment Associate for the Abraaj Group and a stint with the Office of the Quartet, where he deepened his understanding of investment policies in the region. Wisam holds a B.A. in Accounting & Finance from Birzeit University and is pursuing an Executive MBA at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Alexandra brings over 7 years of experience in economic development across the Middle East and South Asia, including working for the U.S. Department of Defense in Kabul and the Brookings Institution in Doha. A continuous student of Arabic and French, Alexandra holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

Khaled brings in-depth knowledge of Palestine to Shurook via his 7 years of experience in development projects across the West Bank, including supporting USAID-funded programs as a regional planning and coordination officer in Ramallah. Khaled holds a Master in Urban Planning from Birzeit University and a B.A. in Building Engineering from Palestine Polytechnic University.
Khaled Alamleh
Kfir joined Shurook from Israel's permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. He is experienced in the Israeli NGO sector and has managed various projects with Israeli government offices, as well as the Peres Peace Center, the Council for Peace and Security, and the US Embassy in Israel. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Islamic Studies from Tel-Aviv University.
Kfir Alon
Yahya works on Shurook’s affordable housing portfolio, bringing experience from the Abraaj Group’s Palestine Growth Capital Fund and the Office of the Quartet. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Bard College.
Yahya Khawashki
Prior to joining Shurook – where she keeps the office running and the team organized – Zein worked on the Advisory Services team at Ernst & Young. She holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Birzeit University and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in International Development and Cooperation at Bethlehem University.

Yusef holds a B.A. in economics with a minor in philosophy from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and has had previous experience working at an investment consultancy firm in Manhattan, New York. He enjoys spending his free time reading the likes of Jean-Paul Sartre and Dostoevsky, as well as keeping up with the stock market and world politics.

A former Morgan Stanley investment banker, Kohei has worked on 30+ cross-border deals worth over US$30Bn+ for corporate/ financial firms’ M&A-driven funding exercises, hybrids/senior fundings, including social responsible security offerings. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Development at Tsukuba University.
Kohei Muto
Originally from Chicago, Isa spent the last year in Connecticut working as an Investment Associate at Bridgewater, the world’s largest hedge fund. Since leaving Bridgewater, he has been working for a New York-based startup, helping develop its sales and marketing strategies. He holds a B.A. from Yale University in Humanities and wrote his thesis on Emerson and American labor. He is an avid runner and podcast enthusiast.
Isa Qasim
A Jerusalem native, Leen comes to Shurook with experience with U.S.-based consulting firm DecisionWise and software management company Galorath Incorporated. She holds a B.A. in Business Management from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management. Leen enjoys traveling and exploring different cultures and cuisines.
Leen Takrouri
Sam previously worked in media/music law in Australia and subsequently in New York City in trust, estate and shareholder litigation. To pursue his passion for clean energy, Sam moved to the region to work for a clean-tech/renewable energy investment fund. He holds a double B.A. in law and politics from Monash University in Australia. He enjoys diving, travelling, and music, and makes a mean cappuccino.
Sam Kozica-O'Callaghan
Coming from California and New York, Mimi Kaplan joined Shurook as a fellow working on wastewater treatment projects in the West Bank. She holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia University in Sustainable Development. While in university, Mimi attended the environmental studies program at the Arava Institute in the Negev. In her spare moments, Mimi enjoys Zumba and long strolls through Jerusalem.

Colombine is a fresh graduate of the Master of Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) program at Harvard University. Prior to graduate school, she worked at the Governance Commission in Liberia and Dalberg Global Development Advisors in Senegal, and is most interested in the use of data and rigorous evidence to improve policy in fragile states.

Kaoru received his MBA from INSEAD and spent over 3 years in McKinsey’s Tokyo office, where he covered the energy and high-tech sectors from strategy to implementation. In his spare time, Kaoru enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and snowboarding.

Omar joined Shurook to support the affordable housing team, bringing experience from Wells Fargo Bank, as well as the Applied Research Institute in Jerusalem where he focused on sustainable rural development. He holds a degree in Urban Studies from Al-Quds Bard College. In his free time, he nerds out on academic lectures by the likes of Noam Chomsky and John Mearsheimer.
Omar Husseini
Annabella’s professional experience spans public and non-profit sectors. She worked for the Singaporean Ministry of Defense, a microfinance non-profit in Indonesia, and the Ministry of Education in Kyrgyzstan. She holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University, and a B.A. in Government and Asian Studies from Cornell University.
Annabella Ng
Cole Benedict provided research and analysis support to Shurook, building on previous international experiences in Jerusalem and Freetown, Sierra Leone. He is currently pursuing a BSc in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech with a minor in Business.
